How to check your marks mid-semester
You can check your marks during the semester to map your progress before official results are released in myStudent Centre. Start by looking in Moodle, and if your marks aren’t there, they'll be available in fdlGrades.
Marks in fdlGrades are subject to change, as your faculty may scale them at the end of the semester. In some units, you might see a grade, such as D for 'Distinction', instead of a number. If a result is blank in fdlGrades, it means the result isn’t available for that unit yet. Some tasks, like exams, may also be blocked from view and will show as ‘Not Available (NA)'.
Unhappy with your results?
1. Ask your lecturer or tutor for more detailed feedback
Useful feedback can help you understand what was expected and how you can improve in the future. Make sure you include your name, student number and unit in your email, and keep a record of the conversation in case you decide to apply for a review of grades.
2. Request a second marking
If you think your marks are incorrect, you can ask for a second opinion by writing to your unit coordinator within the teaching period. (In some units, this happens automatically for assignments that get under 50% – check the unit description to find out if this is the case).
3. Apply for a review of grades
If you've talked to your lecturer and received a second marking and you're still not happy, you can apply for a review of grades. Keep in mind that you have ten working days from grade publication date to submit your application.
