Respect and safety

We aim to create an inclusive environment at Federation so that students, staff, visitors and the broader University community feel supported and safe.

Do you need urgent assistance?

If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, at risk of harm, or requires urgent medical attention, please call emergency services on 000 or Federation campus security on 1800 333 732.

Get support after an incident
If you've been affected by concerning behaviour (on or off campus), you can get help from staff at Federation or through external services. Getting support doesn't mean you have to report the incident.

Report concerning behaviour
If you've seen or experienced unacceptable behaviour, including any form of racism or harassment, we can help you report the incident. You can remain anonymous if you prefer.

Campus security

We want you to feel safe when you're on campus. Our security officers are approachable and helpful, and they're trained to respond to a wide range of concerns (urgent and non-urgent). Learn more about our security service and find out where your nearest defibrillator is.

Safer Communities

No one should experience discrimination, violence or harassment. Find out how we're working across every area of university life to make our campuses equitable and safe.

Campus medical services

If you need non-urgent medical care, please visit our health services webpage to find out what we offer and how to make an appointment.
