Student-led organisation

A student-led organisation (SLO) is an independent body that helps shape the future of Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) funded services and initiatives.

What will our student-led organisation do?

Who truly understands uni life – the support services, the extracurricular activities, campus facilities – everything that goes on outside of class? Federation students. That's why we're establishing our very first student-led organisation (SLO). The committee will be made up of
six democratically elected student representatives who choose their own chair and deputy chair. The group will meet regularly to discuss the services, programs and opportunities that matter most to Federation students. Staff may submit budgets for review, but the SLO will have the power to decide how 40% of the Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) funding should be allocated.

What's the Student Services and Amenities Fee?

Every higher education student is charged an annual Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF). This money goes towards non-academic services and amenities – things that don’t relate directly to courses.

Nominations open soon
