How our strategic plan impacts staff

Our 2040 strategic plan sets the direction for a workplace where staff can grow, innovate and make a real impact through teaching, research and community engagement. We aim to invest in professional development, digital capability and industry collaboration, while supporting an inclusive, safe and rewarding culture.
How our drivers relate to staff
Our Co-op education model means staff will work closely with industry partners to co-design curriculum, create flexible learning experiences and embed real-world projects at every level. For researchers, deeper industry collaboration will mean co-funded projects, shared supervision and internships for HDR candidates.
Our course offerings will evolve in response to labour market data, creating new areas for curriculum development and co-design with local industry. Growing research capacity will open doors for applied projects, partnerships and external funding. As our campuses become Co-op Innovation Precincts, staff will work in more connected, tech-enabled environments.
Staff will work in partnership with students to create inclusive and supportive learning environments. As we grow student numbers, staff will shape new pathways, strengthen TAFE–university integration and design flexible, industry-aligned curriculum that supports lifelong learning.
Staff will get more opportunities to contribute to reconciliation through teaching, research and leadership. We will support them to embed First Peoples’ perspectives into curriculum, strengthen culturally safe practice and collaborate through co-designed programs and research projects.
Staff will have opportunities to work with overseas partners, join transnational education initiatives and contribute to research that addresses global challenges from a regional perspective. International HDR candidates, co-authored research and cross-border Co-op partnerships will enrich teaching, research and professional growth.
We aim to be a workplace where staff can grow, thrive and make a meaningful difference. We're investing in lifelong learning, digital capability, career pathways and staff exchanges. With modern systems, flexible work, wellbeing support and strong recognition programs, we’re building an environment where people feel valued, supported and able to deliver world-class teaching, research and service.
In 2025 we were ranked 24th globally for gender equality.
