Manage your placement

Find out when and how to organise your placement, what kind of funding is available and where you can get course-specific resources.

We want you to be job-ready when you graduate. We want you to know what it’s like to work in industry. To feel confident making the leap from study to employment. Sure – lectures and tutes and labs are important. You need to lay down the fundamentals, do the theory. But applying that knowledge – understanding how to use your skills in the real world – is vital. That’s why placement is embedded in our courses.

When to do placement

The timing of your placement will depend on your course structure and the pre-requisites required. If you’re doing a health or education course, you’ll have specified placement periods. If you’re doing a Co-op course, you can do placement as soon as you’ve completed 105 credit points plus your Professional Identity unit.

Can’t remember what your course structure is? Choose your study area from the list on our enrolment page then download the PDF that applies to you.
