Academic dress

Get to know the gown and colours you’ll wear for graduation.

If you attend a graduation ceremony, you'll wear academic dress. Your booking includes the hire of an academic gown and either a black trencher cap or bonnet.
 
The hat is yours to keep and you can purchase your gown via Reed’s portal.
 
Each qualification has a unique gown style and colour combination. Find yours below.

TAFE

Certificate I and II
Black Oxford gown and a gold woollen stole with two stripes of blue and maroon satin.
Certificate III and IV

Bachelor

Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders

Australian Aboriginal stole
It depicts the colours of the Aboriginal Australian flag, with a yellow, red and black stripe running the length of the stole. Displayed in this instance over an apricot hood, the Australian Aboriginal stole can be worn over any academic dress, in every discipline.
Torres Strait Islander stole
