VET student loan fee notices
Before each census date, you’ll receive a VET student loan (VSL) fee notice sent straight to your personal (not student) email address. This notice lists the units you’re enrolled in and that will incur a fee for that billing period, and shows which fees are about to be deferred to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) as part of your VET student loan.
You don’t need to make an up-front payment for these fees unless you’d like to. If you choose not to pay now, the balance will be deferred to your VET student loan at the census date.
FAQs
If your invoice shows an amount due of $0.00, you don’t need to do anything. This means you don’t have any fees owing and no payment is required.
Even if you have an approved loan, you’ll still receive an invoice. This gives you the option to pay some or all of your tuition fees before the census date, when your fees are deferred to the Australian Taxation Office. You don’t need to pay the fees covered by your loan, but you may still need to pay other charges, such as the Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF).
Invoices are issued weekly on Wednesday afternoons, so you’ll receive your updated invoice within a week of paying your fees.
If you’ve applied for a VET fee concession but your invoice doesn’t show the concession rate, check that you submitted your application on or before your first class start date. The concession can only be applied if you meet this deadline.
