What to expect at Orientation

Day 1 is all about your course and campus. You'll get to explore your facilities, find out important course information and meet other new students. Day 2 is dedicated to study skills sessions to help prepare you for university.

Attendance is compulsory for all students. Don’t forget to bring your student ID number and a laptop if you have one (or a notebook and pen). 

If you can't attend, let us know and we'll make sure you have everything you need to start with confidence.

Day 1: Monday 13 July

Day 1 is all about your course and your campus. Start with your Institute Welcome and Course Overview, then explore your facilities, meet other new students, and dive into the fun extras. Save the date so you’re ready to go.

Meet your academic institute team and learn about the opportunities and support available.

We’ll help you log in to all the university systems you’ll use during your studies, like Moodle and your student email.

Bring your laptop so we can get you set up on the spot.

Now that you’re connected, we’ll guide you through enrolling in your four units (subjects) for the semester if you haven't already. Our team will be there to help every step of the way.

Take a break and enjoy a free lunch. This is the perfect time to mingle with new friends and recharge for the afternoon sessions. Vegetarian, gluten-free and halal options will be available.

Next up, you’ll sharpen your study skills and get fully prepared for the start of university. Add the day to your calendar.

This session will help you to study with confidence. You will practise key academic skills, time management, explore systems like Moodle and discover support services for study, jobs, and your career.
