Set up and manage your researcher profile

Set up your ORCID to link your publications, streamline workflows, and ensure you get credit for your research.

Bringing all your research together in once place makes sure all your work gets connected to you. If you have published under different names (or share a name with another researcher), your work can be misattributed. An ORCID solves that.

ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) gives you a unique and permanent digital ID that sets you apart from other researchers with similar names.

Once your ID is set up it travels with you wherever you work, so you only need to do it once.

Why use an ORCID

Having an ORCID saves you time and hassle managing your research information by:

  • Connecting all your publications, outputs and research to you.
  • Boosting your visibility to collaborators, funders and institutions worldwide by making your research easier to find, cite and share.
  • Many journals and funders (including ARC) now require ORCID.
  • Syncing with Scopus, Web of Science and Federation.figshare. Once connected, your publications and datasets will sync automatically.
  • Streamlining the academic promotion and reporting processes.
