Course overview
This qualification covers the skills and knowledge required to perform a range of skills at trade-level for those working in furniture making and those involved in the manufacture and installation of fitted furniture typically in a kitchen, bathroom and related context. Installation skills may be applied to new or renovation work. The work is in a defined range of skilled operations, usually within a range of broader related activities involving known routines, methods and procedures, where some discretion and judgement is required in the selection of equipment, services or contingency measures and within known time constraints.
You will need to supply:
• Work boots, and protective clothing
• Pens, pencils and notebooks
• Furniture making tools (hammers, chisels, saws, screw drivers)
• PPE (Earmuffs, Safety glasses and Gloves)
Material fees cover the cost of items which are purchased by the university and provided to the student, such as tools, materials, textbooks, excursions, and other incidentals associated with the program. The estimated material fees for this program are $490
IT requirements

This program has been created to encourage the furniture tradesperson to be cross-skilled. Completion of the program will demonstrate that you are competent to undertake a wide range of skills within the industry.

Material fees
This covers things like tools, stationery, uniforms, textbooks, excursions and so on. Expect the cost to be around $563.

Contact hours
