WELRO3107 Preparation for Professional Practice

Students will complete 500 hours of supervised fieldwork practice in an approved human services agency. It is expected that students will reach a level equivalent to that of a new worker by the end of placement. A workshop is conducted to address codes of ethical practice, professional obligations such as mandatory reporting of suspected child abuse, duty of care, professional supervision, and other relevant workplace responsibilities will be included. Students will participate in a series of integrative seminars whilst on placement to share experiences, obtain support and discuss the integration of theory and practice.

For the Social Work Professional Pathway band, the student contribution is determined by the unit Field of Education (FOE) code as well as the course in which you are enrolled. Only approved courses are eligible for the Social Work Professional Pathway fee.

This fee band is for Human Welfare Studies and Services units (FOE code starting with 0905) in the Bachelor of Community and Human Services, Bachelor of Social Work, Master of Social Work (Qualifying), Master of Social Work (Qualifying) (Children and Families).

Domestic full fee–paying places
