WELRO1001 Orientation to Social Welfare
Discussion of the nature of welfare work to include: defining the nature of welfare work, exploring the history of the welfare profession, locating welfare in the context of the Australian welfare state, and exploring different forms of welfare interventions. Introduction to a range of theoretical perspectives and models such as: client centred, solutions focused, anti-oppressive and critical theory approaches, strengths based approach, and systems based approaches and case management. Introduction to professional practice to include the professional code of practice, ethics and ethical dilemmas, rural practice issues, personal/professional role boundaries, and understanding of the professional role.
Commonwealth supported place (CSP)
A CSP is subsidised by the Australian Government and students pay a contribution amount. Each unit is classified into a band, depending on the study area of the unit (this discipline may be different from the study area of your course).

Social Work Professional Pathway CSP unit fees
For the Social Work Professional Pathway band, the student contribution is determined by the unit Field of Education (FOE) code as well as the course in which you are enrolled. Only approved courses are eligible for the Social Work Professional Pathway fee.
