VAINT3006 INTERMEDIA STUDIO PRACTICE 6

This course constitutes advanced practical and contemporary theoretical studies and provides a context for students to conceive, plan and execute a major program of works, which takes into consideration intermedia art practice. The student's proposal should be refined in consultation with teaching staff and further refine their self-directed program of study. Factors to be considered to support a developing understanding of research and artistic endeavour when it is self directed will entail understanding of: A conceptual framework and the rationale that underpins it, Processes to be investigated and developed, Potential of cross disciplinary art practice, Contemporary and historical sources relevant to the proposed studies. Students are expected to develop and resolve a mature, professional, investigative body of artwork, with reference to their stated intentions. The process of using Art in a public arena or in a social context encourages a community understanding of art and art possibilities. Students will gain an appreciation of artwork in a community space. Students are encouraged to pursue this direction of study. Intermedia extends the application of oral and written communication, problem solving, analysis and critical evaluation and effective teamwork. The human figure will provide an ongoing focus of study in the life-drawing studio.

Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) unit fee

A Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) is one that is subsidised by the Australian Government, which means students only pay the student contribution amount of the tuition fee. CSPs are only available to eligible domestic students.

The student contribution amount depends on the unit and how much funding the Government provides. Each unit is classified into a band based on its discipline (which may be different to your overall course discipline).

2025 student contribution amount: $3,493

2025 grandfathered student contribution amount (for students who commenced before 1 Jan 2021*): $2,990

* If you are a continuing student (who commenced your course before 1 January 2021) you will continue paying the same amount as you would have, had legislative reforms not been implemented for any units that would otherwise have an increased student contribution amount.

Clinical Psychology & Professional Pathways

For Clinical Psychology & Professional Pathways bands, the student contribution amount is determined by the accredited course. Visit our CSP page for further information, including a list of accredited courses. Students not studying in an accredited course will pay the fees listed above.
