PAMTM2003 MUSIC THEORY FOR SINGERS 3

This course builds on the students¿ theoretical knowledge and skills covered in first year. A sophisticated understanding of rhythm, pitch and harmony will enhance and further develop students¿ ability to sight-sing and read both vocal and keyboard music. Students will develop a thorough understanding of the specific elements of music theatre song including text, structure, tonality and compositional devices. Students will be expected to show their theoretical understanding through compositional tasks. Students will learn to analyse music theatre repertoire in depth and interpret songs to support the vocal and dramatic choices made in performance.

Commonwealth supported place (CSP)

A CSP is subsidised by the Australian Government and students pay a contribution amount. Each unit is classified into a band, depending on the study area of the unit (this discipline may be different from the study area of your course).

Domestic full fee–paying places
