This course provides an opportunity to discover new knowledge and develop effective communication skills. Each of us has talents in performance and presentation that can be refined with work to give us better skills and confidence in personal communication and public speaking. These are life-long benefits. The course develops practical skills and familiarity with oral presentation and the concept of presence. It uses the study of drama and performance to build understanding of the nature of presentation, real-time, recorded and written communication. Through Drama methods and practical exercises, the course develops presentation skills. It introduces students to some basic methods and techniques using the voice and body to communicate clearly and effectively. We use concentration, focus and teamwork and critically evaluate events.
