Peer Support Desk
The experienced students at the Peer Support Desk can help you with computer systems, assignment topics, referencing, exam prep and more.
The Peer Support Desk is run by experienced Federation students – second year or above, with a GPA of 6.0 or higher. They know how it feels to be new to uni – to have to navigate new systems and academic methods. You can ask them to help you figure out:
- Federation tech platforms
- assignment topics and structure
- academic writing
- referencing
- exam preparation
- time management.
They can also give you referrals to other University services.
How to get help
If you're at Berwick, Gippsland or Mt Helen, drop into the Library between 10 and 3, Monday to Friday. If you're at Camp St, you'll find current drop-in times on the desk in the Student Lounge.
Access our online live chat from Monday to Friday, 9 am–5 pm (during semester). If you'd like to get in touch outside these hours, submit a question and we'll get back to you.
If you have a quick question you'd like answered, submit it via our online form and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
If you can't get to campus and your question is too detailed for our live chat, send an email. Make sure you include your name, course and any other relevant details.
What to bring if you drop in
You'll get more personalised support if you bring relevant materials like your assignment instructions, marking criteria, reading lists, notes you’ve made or drafts you’ve started.
Would you like to become a peer learning mentor?
Applications are currently closed, but you can send an expression of interest to lass@federation.edu.au if you'd like us to keep your details on file.
