Nursing (second-year entry) Orientation at Gippsland
Keen to find out a bit more about your course? Want to explore Gippsland Campus, meet some other new second-year nursing students and enjoy a free lunch? Perfect – it's all in the schedule below.
What to expect at Orientation
Orientation is your official welcome to Federation University. It’s designed to help you settle in, feel confident, and get ready to start your studies. You'll get to explore your facilities, find out crucial course information and meet other new students. So mark your calendar now.
Attendance is compulsory for all students, regardless of study mode - on campus or blended. Don’t forget to bring your student ID number and a laptop if you have one (or a notebook and pen). Our campus is cashless, so plan ahead.
If you can't attend, let us know and we'll make sure you have everything you need to start with confidence.
Wednesday 17 June
Start your day by registering at the check-in desk.
Student Lounge, Building 3N
Get the lowdown on your units, what you’ll be learning, and when key dates are coming up. It’s also a great chance to meet your lecturers, ask questions, and start connecting with other students in your course.
Room 101, Building 2E
Stretch your legs with a guided tour of your new study location so you can feel confident finding your way around. You’ll also get to explore our state-of-the-art nursing labs that simulate real-world hospital environments, giving you a taste of the hands-on learning ahead. And since your Orientation kicks off earlier than most courses, you’ll pretty much have the campus to yourself for the first few weeks.
