Student Senate
The Senate speaks up for all Federation students and works to create positive change across the university. Got an idea to improve student life? You can contact a rep or – even better – become one yourself.

What is the Senate?
The Student Senate is made up of students from different campuses and cohorts. This diverse group exists to:
- raise feedback with senior University staff
- advocate on behalf of Federation students
- help students find the right university service on campus and online
- propose changes at Federation University.
Anyone can apply to join the Senate. The selection process is democratic – all students are encouraged to vote for nominees (although it's not compulsory).
We're not currently looking for any new Senate reps
But if you'd like to nominate yourself in a future round, register your interest by emailing student.senate@federation.edu.au or calling (03) 5327 6978.
