Report copyright infringement
Find out what to do if your copyright materials are used without permission.
Using copyright material when no exceptions or licences apply and the owner hasn't granted permission is called copyright infringement. If someone authorises the use of copyright material that breaches the rules, this is also considered copyright infringement.
How to report infringement
If you find your materials on a website, contact the website admin directly to ask that your content be removed. This is known as a 'takedown' notice, and it's especially effective for sites hosted in the USA because they're subject to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (which requires by law that the site remove the infringing content).
If your request is ignored, contact the Copyright Office for further advice.
If you believe copyright material is being used illegally on the Federation website (or in any other University documents or platforms), please let us know by submitting our copyright infringement notification form.
