Leave a lasting legacy
A gift in your Will is a powerful way to support future generations of Federation students and strengthen education across our regions. It’s a personal decision, often made over time – and one that can reflect your values long into the future.
Leaving a gift in your Will to Federation University is a great way to make a lasting difference. Your gift can contribute to teaching and research that supports regional Australia, making a real impact where it matters. And because needs change over time, it can also go toward the areas that need it most in the future, helping the University respond and adapt as priorities evolve.
You can tell us how you’d like your gift to be used – whether that’s a scholarship, a specific discipline or research project, or a new building or facility. Any information you share with Federation about your intentions will be treated confidentially and used for planning and stewardship purposes. Letting us know does not create a legal obligation, and you can change your Will or your intentions at any time.
Types of bequests
Arranging a bequest means leaving a gift to Federation in your will. There are different ways to do this:

A gift of all or part of what remains of your estate after debts, expenses, taxes and any other gifts have been paid.
Pecuniary gift
A gift of a nominated sum of money.
Specific gift
A gift of a particular asset, such as property, shares or personal items.
Percentage gift
A gift of a nominated percentage of your estate, or a nominated percentage of the residue of your estate.
