Course overview

This course describes the skills and knowledge required to administer a Licensed Vehicle Tester (LVT) License, and to ensure an Examining Mechanic and LVT licence holder are aware of and capable of fulfilling their obligations when inspecting and testing an electric or hybrid vehicle for the purposes of issuing a Victorian certificate of roadworthiness under a LVT Licence accredited with the EV Testing Category. AURETH101-Depower and reinitialise battery electric vehicle.
This is the prerequisite needed before you can undertake the EV LVT component.
You do not need to do this if you already hold a prerequisite (see form)
This is a face to face, one day program that takes place at our Ballarat (SMB) campus.
EV LVT Training This is the qualification needed to perform LVTs on electric vehicles.
This is a wholly online program that is self-paced, and students should allow up to 6 hrs to complete, as it requires a minimum pass mark of 90%.
There is also a connected classroom (online on a Wednesday, up to 1 hr) with the teacher once they complete the online component.

Unit is delivered at SMB in a face to face classroom environment

Delivered online, and is self-paced with an online check in with the teacher prior completion.

Entry requirements

Participants must hold current LVT qualifications Be a qualified mechanic Hold AURETH011 Depower and reinitialise hybrid electric vehicle or AURETH001 Depower and reinitialise battery electric vehicles. Participants must have access to a computer and internet.
