Fed Falcons ready to soar with Tyler leading the way at UBL

International experience joins the Falcons
Federation University welcomes Tyler Kenedday as the new head coach of the Falcons for the 2026 University Basketball League (UBL) season. Bringing experience from Australia and overseas, he joins the program with a focus on building strong connections, developing student-athletes and strengthening the university community.
Tyler has coached across multiple levels in Australia and overseas, including NCAA programs in the United States, in the Dominican Republic and in the NBL1.
He represented Lubbock Christian University in Lubbock, Texas, where he set a record for the most three-point shots made in a single game with 10. He has also competed in short-term professional basketball tours across countries including Panama, Dominican Republic, Belgium, England, Philippines, Canada, Israel and Palestine.
A longtime fan of Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks, he said coaching is about helping people discover more about themselves through sport.
Building more than a team
For Tyler, UBL is about more than basketball. He sees the competition as a chance to strengthen relationships and create a sense of belonging among student athletes.
'UBL is a great opportunity to create community and build relationships that matter,' he said.
He is particularly excited about the connections the team can build throughout the season.

Opportunity for student athletes
Tyler said UBL gives students the chance to develop their skills while becoming part of something bigger.
‘UBL creates a great opportunity for students to learn more about the game, build something bigger than themselves, and have a ton of fun,’ he said.
He hopes players leave the season with growth beyond the court.
‘I hope the players leave the program with a deeper understanding of who they are and how they impact the world.’
Strengthening university community
The Falcons represent Federation University in the national university competition and play an important role in strengthening campus life.
Tyler said the team reflects the Univeristiy's values and helps build a stronger sense of community.
‘The Falcons are a visual representation of the connection and community that Fed is all about,’ he said.

Looking ahead to 2026
Tyler is thrilled to coach Falcons for UBL 2026. He said one of the most rewarding parts of coaching is earning athletes’ trust and seeing the impact of his guidance.
Off the court, he is preparing to welcome his second baby boy in November.
