VAGTR5002 Glaze Technology and Research 2

Glaze Technology and Research 2 is the second in a sequence of two courses in the Graduate Diploma of Ceramics devoted to the development and production of a range of ceramic glaze surfaces and associated treatment. Students will develop an advanced knowledge of the technicalities of glaze formulation, advanced ceramic chemistry and the variants of kiln firing as they affect various glazes. Weekly consultations with studio supervisors, practical demonstrations, and an experimental approach to learning will culminate in an increased understanding and an ability to identify and rectify faults and unsuccessful results. Students will have produced a highly individual, unique and personal glaze palette at the completion of this course.
