SOCOG2102 HEALTH &CITIZENSHIP

Course content will involve students thinking about social and political influences on health and the health care system and evaluating arguments and health and citizenship. Topics to be addressed include: perspectives on power and policy; debates about medical dominance; managerialism, contractually, and mercerisation in health care; case mix funding in three countries, gendered health; the management of mental illness; the battle over Aboriginal health.

This fee band is for Human Welfare Studies and Services units (FOE code starting with 0905) in the Bachelor of Community and Human Services, Bachelor of Social Work, Master of Social Work (Qualifying), Master of Social Work (Qualifying) (Children and Families).
