SOCOG1001 THE INTERNATIONAL ARENA
This course introduces students to international relations. It explores dimensions of twentieth-century international political history: the emergence of international bodies such as the United Nations, the International Criminal Court and the Bretton Woods institutions; the development of power blocs during and after the Cold War; relations between different civilisational zones and conflicts involving trans-national religious and political movements. The course also surveys contemporary global issues that may include terrorism, regional conflicts, human rights and transnational social movements
Commonwealth supported place (CSP)
A CSP is subsidised by the Australian Government and students pay a contribution amount. Each unit is classified into a band, depending on the study area of the unit (this discipline may be different from the study area of your course).
