SOCIN1101 URBAN ANTHROPOLOGY
This course introduces the key concepts (ritual, rites of passage, reciprocity and kinship) and active practice of methodologies (participant observation and genealogy construction) from social anthropology. Students will have the opportunity to apply the concepts and methodologies to urban contexts among Australia's near neighbours and migrant, Aboriginal Australian Anglo- Australian communities.
Commonwealth supported place (CSP)
A CSP is subsidised by the Australian Government and students pay a contribution amount. Each unit is classified into a band, depending on the study area of the unit (this discipline may be different from the study area of your course).
