PSYCM7012 Professional Practice: Stage 2
This unit provides students with their first opportunity to integrate and apply foundational psychological knowledge and skills in a supervised professional placement. Students develop competence in culturally responsive and culturally safe psychological assessment, formulation, intervention, progress monitoring and professional communication. They apply ethical, legal and professional standards to clinical decision-making, documentation and practice. Through clinical supervision, feedback and critical reflection, students evaluate their developing competence, consider the influence of personal values and cultural assumptions, recognise psychosocial risks, and apply self-care principles. Students also develop effective clinical records, reports and logbooks and collaborate respectfully with other professionals to support coordinated, person-centred psychological care.
Commonwealth supported place (CSP)
A CSP is subsidised by the Australian Government and students pay a contribution amount. Each unit is classified into a band, depending on the study area of the unit (this discipline may be different from the study area of your course).
