PAMTV1001 SINGING 1
"This course is an introduction to the foundation skills of singing in music theatre styles, including body alignment, breath management and structural support for singing. Vocal techniques will be taught in small group tutorials. Music Theatre repertoire, covering a wide range of differing styles and periods, will be taught in rehearsal style classes. Through a weekly master-class students will explore: the importance of text in song; the importance of thorough investigation into, and preparation of, song; work-shopping a song; and the giving and receiving of constructive feedback. Through rehearsals of ensemble repertoire, students will be introduced to the industry expectations of ensemble performance. A disciplined practice regime will be established to support singing development and as a foundation for more advanced courses. "
