PAATC1002 CRITICAL STUDIES IN THEATRE 2
Students will learn about the development of the Performing Arts in Australia from colonial times to the present. As an outcome students identify cultural myths at work in society as they are expressed in theatre. Students learn to consider their own place as self-reflexive artists, located in Australia, in a globalised world. Students investigate the structure and development of the Australian Performing Arts industry and note significant companies, venues and funding bodies. Students demonstrate a critical language around the performance of music theatre and to apply this to live performance and to their own practice.
