LITCI2203 Studying Poetry
This intermediate course is a study of a wide range of poetry in English from the Renaissance to the present, focusing on poetic style, form and genre, poetic techniques (uses of imagery and figurative language), and literary history. Special topics may include love poetry, the ballad, the sonnet, and contemporary performance poetry. The course is designed to develop skills and confidence in understanding and teaching poetry, and should be of value to creative writers or anyone working closely with language.
Commonwealth supported place (CSP)
A CSP is subsidised by the Australian Government and students pay a contribution amount. Each unit is classified into a band, depending on the study area of the unit (this discipline may be different from the study area of your course).
