LITCI1005 TWENTIETH CENTURY LITERATURE
The course is designed for students to obtain an insight into a number of selected Western Twentieth Century issues, such as absurdity, alienation, existentialism, angst and depression, develop a knowledge of a range of Western Twentieth Century literary texts that offer a discussion of and resolution to such issues, and gain an appreciation of innovative theoretical approaches to such issues as doubt and despair, absurdity, alienation, existentialism, angst and depression. Set texts for this unit will span such literary genres as the novel, short story, poetry, television serial and picture story book.
Commonwealth supported place (CSP)
A CSP is subsidised by the Australian Government and students pay a contribution amount. Each unit is classified into a band, depending on the study area of the unit (this discipline may be different from the study area of your course).
