ITECH1503 Data and information systems

This unit provides fundamental concepts related to data and information systems. This unit will explore the theory and applications of data and information. Students will learn data in various formats, data and information processing platforms and tools to transform, visualise, model data and information, providing end users with timely knowledge to support decision making. The unit will explain the challenges organisations are facing with managing data and information.

Commonwealth supported place (CSP)

A CSP is subsidised by the Australian Government and students pay a contribution amount. Each unit is classified into a band, depending on the study area of the unit (this discipline may be different from the study area of your course).

Domestic full fee–paying places

A domestic full fee–paying place is one that isn’t subsidised by the Australian Government. These places are offered to postgraduate students or those who are ineligible for a CSP.
