HEALP6206 Perinatal Mental Health - Part A
This is the introductory unit in the Gidget Foundation Australia workforce development program. It is designed to provide students with foundational theoretical knowledge and skills to support entry into the perinatal and infant mental health clinical space. The content will explore: ¿ Physiology of childbearing, ¿ Fetal development, ¿ Normal adjustments to parenting as well as broad biosocial issues contributing or diminishing resilience, ¿ Comprehensive psychological assessment of the mother-infant dyad, case formation, ¿ Implementation, and evaluation of therapeutic treatment of common clinical presentations, ¿ E¿ective family-centred, strengths based, and culturally sensitive care will be explored together with clinical reasoning, critical thinking, and re¿ective practice for safe, quality evidence-based care.
Commonwealth supported place (CSP)
A CSP is subsidised by the Australian Government and students pay a contribution amount. Each unit is classified into a band, depending on the study area of the unit (this discipline may be different from the study area of your course).

Grandfathered contribution amount - if you are a continuing student, who commenced your course before 1 January 2021, you will continue paying the same amount as you would have, had legislative reforms not been implemented, for any units that would otherwise have an increased student contribution amount.
