HCPAR6012 PARAMEDIC CLINICAL DIAGNOSTICS 2
This second Clinical Diagnostics unit is designed to build upon and extend knowledge and skill developed in Clinical Diagnostics 1. In conjunction with the course Clinical Paramedicine 2 this develops the student's understanding of pre-hospital care to Advanced Life Support Level (ALS). Initially the student will review paramedic care models and the practice of paramedicine. Medical health assessment and diagnosis, basic electro cardiology and drug administration systems will be reviewed as a basis for the main topics relating to trauma rapid assessment and evacuation, and ALS medical emergencies. Utilising models of practice and CPG's the student, in a small team, will plan and present the main topics of the course relating to trauma, rapid assessment and evacuation. Throughout the unit a problem-based learning model will be used and students will be constantly encouraged to develop critical thinking processes.
