HCPAR5011 Paramedic Clinical Diagnostics I
This unit in conjunction with Clinical Paramedicine 1, introduces the student to paramedicine, out-of-hospital care and the paramedic profession at the BLS level. Initially the student will be presented with paramedic care models and the practice of paramedicine. Medical health assessment and diagnosis, basic electro cardiology and drug administration systems will be introduced. Utilising models of practice and CPGs the student, in a small team, will plan and present the main topics of the course relating to medical disorders/syndromes. Throughout the course a problem-based learning model will be used and students will be constantly encouraged to develop critical thinking processes.
