GPFSP1402 Introduction to Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
The aim of the Introduction to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples¿ History will provide an understanding of pre-colonisation and post-colonisation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' and the movement of reconciliation. This course explores both traditional and contemporary experience and expression of Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples¿ culture. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples¿ philosophy and its impact on the understanding of country is an essential component of this course. English language skills for academic purposes will be consolidated, extended and assessed via specific criteria in all assessment tasks.
Commonwealth supported place (CSP)
A CSP is subsidised by the Australian Government and students pay a contribution amount. Each unit is classified into a band, depending on the study area of the unit (this discipline may be different from the study area of your course).
