EDMAS6115 Physical Education Curriculum 2

Pre-service teachers will critically explore the theoretical and social underpinnings of traditional Physical Education curriculum through reviewing literature and reflecting on their own experiences and assumptions. They will critically analyse existing school PE curriculum and report their findings. Pre-service teachers will explore assessment and reporting structures relevant to the contemporary PE setting and develop an assessment task to objectively assess and report on PE learning outcomes. A thorough study of senior PE curriculum will be undertaken, including exploration of its connection to middle years PE, content analysis, programming and assessment requirements, development and delivery of learning and assessment tasks, and critical evaluation of assessment resources.
