EDLAN1000 LANTITE Attempt

The Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) requires all Initial Teacher Education (ITE) pre-service teachers (PSTs) to demonstrate personal literacy and numeracy skills within the top 30 per cent of the adult population. To meet this requirement, PSTs must undertake the Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education (LANTITE), administered externally by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER), during their first year of enrolment in an ITE program. Multiple test attempts are permitted; however, each attempt must occur within an approved ACER test window and attracts a separate fee. This zero-credit-point unit is designed to monitor and record PSTs¿ progress in completing both the literacy and numeracy components of LANTITE.Recognition of proficiency in a First Nations language, as verified by an appropriate cultural authority, is accepted as an alternative standard for eligible First Nations language speakers.Graduation Requirement:To graduate from an ITE program, PSTs must successfully meet the required standard in both the literacy and numeracy components of LANTITE. Attempting the test alone is not sufficient. PSTs who meet the required standard in either or both components on their first attempt are not required to re-sit those components. PSTs who do not meet the required standard must re-sit the relevant component(s) until the standard is achieved.

Commonwealth supported place (CSP)

2026 grandfathered contribution amount^ $0

^ If you are a continuing student who commenced your course before 1 January 2021, you will continue paying the same amount as you would have, had legislative reforms not been implemented, for any units that would otherwise have an increased student contribution amount.

* For Psychology and Social Work bands the unit fee amount is determined by accredited courses. Students in Postgraduate Clinical Psychology, Professional Pathway Psychology or Professional Pathway Social Work accredited courses should refer to the information below.

A domestic full fee–paying place is one that isn’t subsidised by the Australian Government. These places are offered to postgraduate students or those who are ineligible for a CSP. Domestic postgraduate tuition fees are course-based annual fees, which means individual unit fees vary according to the degree. International full fee–paying places
