DLGLM1007 Connecting with Stakeholders and Communities
Connecting with stakeholders and communities is a critical component of local government. In modern democracies it is essential that elected local government officials involve local communities in the decision-making process. This unit will examine some of the key theories, concepts and practices that are central to community engagement and the decision-making processes of local government. The unit provides students with the opportunity to understand the techniques and appreciate the practical skills required to design, deliver, and evaluate community engagement. Student will be asked to critically assess the key practices and challenges faced by local government officials as they attempt to connect with stakeholders and communities.
