BUACC2613 Management Accounting 1
The unit enables students to develop an understanding of the theoretical and practical aspects of management accounting for product costing, decision making and control. This includes an examination of cost concepts, cost classifications and cost behaviour. The initial focus of the unit is on determining product costs, using job order and process costing. The unit subsequently examines activity-based costing systems. Budgets and standard costing systems are studied as means for planning and controlling business activity. Each topic is introduced by a review of key theoretical concepts that are then applied to practical settings.
