BSHSP3003 STRATEGIC HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
Human resource management has expanded as an area of business practice as the links between it, business strategy and profitability have been recognised. This course builds on previous studies in the management of human resources completed as part of the Bachelor of Hospitality (Management). It will examine the concepts of strategy and strategic management, and the manner in which a strategic approach to human resource management can contribute to overall organisational strategy. Students will be encouraged to consider both theoretical and practical perspectives in their evaluation of human resource policies and practices as contributors to the long term performance of the organisation.
