"The Australian derivatives market is one of the largest and most dynamic in the world. The main futures contracts traded on the Sydney Futures Exchange are amongst the most liquid asset classes in the world. This unit provides students with an understanding of how these markets work and how they can be used. Topics include institutional aspects of financial derivatives markets, the use of (and factors affecting) option prices in equity, currency and interest rate markets, and the pricing of and uses of futures, forward contracts and swaps and new financial derivatives in Australia. "
