BEHAV1002 Brains and Behaviour
This unit provides an understanding of human behaviour, with a neurological focus. As such, it will provide a fundamental understanding of the nervous system, sensation and perception, intelligence, learning, memory and cognition. There is an emphasis on making these concepts highly relevant by demonstrating their application to everyday behaviour. The unit also holds to the goals of psychology as a science: to describe, understand, predict, and influence our own behaviour and that of others. It also provides a solid grounding for any further study in psychology, the social sciences or other programs that relate to social interactions.
