Co-operative education model

Your career is about more than your qualification. It’s about networking with industry and employers, gaining meaningful real-world experience and applying what you learn on the job.

Not just employment ready. Employable

Co-operative education (Co-op) at Federation University means your course is shaped with industry from the ground up – what you learn, how you learn it, and how it’s assessed. We’re the first in Australia embedding Co-op in every course, you’ll graduate knowing exactly what employers expect and what you can expect from them.

With real work placements, cadetships or research internships that count toward your course credits, you’ll build experience, confidence and connections that open doors. Graduate with a headstart, no extra time needed. Some placements are paid; all are designed to grow your career.

Your connection to industry

From local businesses to global companies, work with our industry partners while you study. Including organisations like Amazon Web Services, AGL, Concentrix, EY (Ernst & Young), GHD, IBM®, McCain Foods, Omron and Siemens. These connections aren’t just for show. They lead to real projects and work placements.

We're with you every step of the way. Our team works directly with industry to find the right placement and guide you through the recruitment process.
