Biography
Robeena Emmanuel is a registered nurse, nursing academic and PhD scholar with over 25 years of combined experience in clinical nursing and nursing education. She has broad clinical experience across emergency, cardiac, medical and mental health nursing and has worked predominantly in mental health settings since 2005.
Robeena commenced her role as a lecturer in Nursing at Federation University Australia in 2021. Prior to this, she worked as a sessional nursing lecturer at Holmesglen Institute. She is passionate about teaching and strongly committed to student-centred learning and achieving positive educational outcomes for future nurses.
As a PhD scholar, Robeena’s research focuses on trauma‑informed care for culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) populations. Her broader research and community engagement activities centre on mental health and wellbeing among adolescents, migrant families and carers. She has been actively involved in delivering mental health awareness programs for Australian Indian parents and second‑generation Indian youth, with a focus on improving mental health literacy, reducing stigma and promoting culturally responsive care.
