Biography
Louise Allen has worked at the School of Health at Federation University’s Gippsland campus since 2013 as a lecturer in the Bachelor of Nursing program.
Louise has gained vast and varied clinical experience and continues to practise as a registered nurse in a regional emergency department. She takes pride in sharing contemporary experiences with nursing students to provide realistic learning opportunities.
Louise has a passion for newly qualified nurse preparedness for practice and has been involved in a variety of research projects aiming to improve nursing students’ experiences. The outcomes of these projects have been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at education conferences.
Louise is currently a PhD candidate and is conducting a mixed method research project in the area of nursing students’ perceptions of being a nurse.
