Biography

Dr Laura Jowett is a lecturer in anatomy and physiology in the Institute of Health and Wellbeing at the Gippsland campus of Federation University Australia, commencing in 2025. Laura is passionate about equipping nursing students with fundamental knowledge of how the body works normally. 

Before joining as a lecturer, Laura taught in the anatomy and physiology labs from 2022 and in the first and second year undergraduate chemistry labs from 2019 at the Gippsland campus. Laura has held a variety of roles at Federation University Australia, working in the Carbon Technology Research Centre, and as a technical officer in allied health, nursing and midwifery. 

Prior to moving to Gippsland, Laura completed her PhD at Sydney University with her research focusing on the transport of anions, particularly chloride, over cell membranes.
