Biography

Professor Jiefeng (Jerry) Hu has an exceptional track record in the field of power converters control and energy conversion systems, with specific research interests in power electronics, renewable energy, and smart microgrids.

Professor Hu is currently a Professor in Power Converters and Smart Microgrids and Program Coordinator (Electrical Engineering) at Federation University Australia. Jerry is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers where he has served in a number of editorial roles. Jerry has published more than 100 research papers and has led or participated in research projects funded by Australian Research Council, Hong Kong Research Grants Council, and Hong Kong Innovation and Technology Commission.

Jerry received his PhD from University of Technology Sydney. He led an international team to develop advanced renewable energy technologies for smart cities at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and was involved in the research of minigrids at the CSIRO.
