Dr Heather Ernst lectures in mathematics and science education at Federation University Australia’s Gippsland and Berwick campuses, and online. She teaches both mathematics and science teacher education courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. 

Heather’s areas of expertise include mathematics and numeracy, assessment for learning, curriculum alignment and higher-order thinking. Before joining Federation University in 2014, she taught in government schools for 25 years in a variety of year levels and roles. She is currently Coordinator of the Bachelor of Education Studies.
