Biography
Dr Brad Beseler is a senior lecturer in health and physical education at Federation University and the course coordinator for the Bachelor of Secondary Education (Health and Physical Education) and the Bachelor of Sport, Physical and Outdoor Education. His work focuses on motor learning and skill acquisition, particularly the assessment and development of fundamental motor skills.
Brad’s research focuses on motor learning and skill acquisition, with particular expertise in the assessment and development of fundamental motor skills. His work has a strong applied focus, exploring how digital technologies such as interactive video can support physical education teachers, coaches and other kinesiology professionals to enhance movement analysis and performance. He has also contributed to applied sport research through publications on goal kicking in Australian Rules Football.
Brad is involved in collaborative research examining the professional development of Health, Outdoor and Physical Education (HOPE) teachers, teacher educators and pre-service teachers. This work focuses on strengthening practice and learning across regional, rural, remote and urban fringe contexts.
Before joining Federation in 2010, Brad taught secondary school health and physical education in Australia and the United Kingdom. He completed his PhD in 2022.
